The Latin American Association for Analytical Philosophy welcomes submissions of papers on any philosophical topic for its first conference to be held from the 13th to the 16th of April, 2010 at the Centro Peninsular en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales (UNAM) in Mérida, Yucatán, México. The official languages of the congress are English, Portuguese and Spanish.
Proposals should include a detailed 1500 word summary of the paper. Authors must indicate if they are willing to act as commentators should their paper not be accepted. We also accept applications as commentators. Those interested should email alfa@filosoficas.unam.mx indicating their areas of specialization and topics on which they are willing to comment.
Presentations that do not include commentators will last 40 minutes with a 20 minute discussion period. Sessions with commentators will also last 1 hr, but the time will be distributed thus: 30 minutes for presentation, 10 minutes for comments and 20 minutes for discussion.
The selection committee will accept papers based on positive reports from blind referees. The selection committee is made up of: Marcelo Díaz (Chile), Maite Ezcurdia (Mexico), Paulo Faria (Brazil), Max Freund (Costa Rica), Olbeth Hansberg (Mexico), Raúl Meléndez (Colombia), and Eleonora Orlando (Argentina).
